CALL-OUT FOR LOCAL FILMS
Sleight of Hand is currently developing A Silent Era, a dynamic and lively theatre show written by Ellie Chadwick, exploring women’s contribution to the film industries, splicing together historical reality and movie reality in a kaleidoscopic exploration of cinematic history.
As part of Sleight of Hand’s development of this new theatre production (supported by Exeter Phoenix and Theatre Royal Plymouth), and thanks to funds from the Creative East Devon Fund through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we are looking to platform the work of filmmakers in East Devon.
We are organising screenings of East Devon filmmakers’ work as well as talks and workshops at several venues across the region in Sidmouth, Honiton, and Seaton.
For a chance to have your work shown to new audiences and winning a cash prize, submit a short film that meets the following requirements:

It is directed and/or written by a creative who lives and/or works in East Devon;

It is a maximum of 30 minutes in length;

It was made in the last 4 years;

(Optional) We are particularly keen to see films that have a focus on local East Devon culture/history/people.
We will then select 4-5 films to screen, and offer opportunity to be involved in a Q&A about the work. We will invite industry contacts to the screening, to help drum up support for your work. We will also select the best work to be awarded a cash prize!
